Hello!

Thank you for viewing my portfolio! Here you can find my animation reel.

Hello, my name is Arker. I also go by BG online. I am a 24 year old character animator and designer with a BFA in animation and a minor in game design. I have a cat named Buttons.

Game Designs

"Fogswitch"

"Fogswitch" was my thesis, finishing up my studies at PNCA. It is an ongoing project.

The story concept is:“Fogswitch” is an in-progress psychological horror game that delves into morality through the eyes of an abductee and their kidnapper. The story begins with Avery, a college student, who is heading home after a long night of drinking with her friends. She decides to take the shortcut home, when she walks into the middle of a murder. This encounter will start Avery’s constant escape from death, and it will reveal some shocking information about her abductor.

These are older character concept ideas.

In Spine2D, I created a couple animation ideas for Lucky.

"Kitty Jump"

This is a fun little project I am taking my time with. The premise is you are a cat sent on a quest to collect as many fish as possible. Along the way, you meet other cats that are unlocked and become playable later. It is very early in progress but it was something fresh I wanted to try as I have never done pixel art before.

These are the concept arts I created in Pixsquare I am using.

This is a small in-progress shot of what the game looks like in Godot.

Showcase

"Attention, Breaking News"

I sketched and rendered in Procreate. I was going for a old Cartoon Network style as I was designing Uncle Sam and Statue of Liberty. I also wanted to keep a bit of copper color to her, which I used for shading.

I then split them each into different parts for tweening.

For the TV that hangs down, I found a free non-copyrighted photo of an old TV. In Photoshop, I erased the background and the right-hand portion where the speaker is. Then, I used the line tool to create the "wires".

Utilizing Procreate Dreams, I animated their mouths frame by frame, then chroma-keyed it into After Effects.

Each part moves separately. In After Effects, I added a red rectangle and moving text. I also added some blue gradient to the background to make it pop more. I was trying to stick with the red white and blue scheme. This was the animation before adding in the mouth movements. The TV had a solid layer behind it, which I added an adjustment layer for noise, and then added in political images to go with the song.

After combining and tweening all the assets in After Effects, I then exported it into Capcut for the final touches (screen moving, etc.)

The Littlest Snail

These are some character concept designs I came up in Procreate with for backgrounds bug characters.

This is a concept crawl cycle for the main snail, Pip, made in Procreate as well.

For these animatic shots, I utilized Photoshop and ToonBoom to put them together and match the finished character design.

"Forever We're Apart" Mult-Animator Collab

For this project, I created the rough in Procreate.

I finished it in Procreate, then use Capcut to edit and add special effects, as well as composite!

This was the finished collaboration!
